Our sandy beach area provides a fun spot for the children, be they 4 or
40! Sun deck, badminton, basketball and horseshoes will keep all occupied and active. Be serenaded by the loons in the evening, while relaxing by the crackling campfire in the firepit.
Local snowmobile trails are well marked and ideal for hiking.
The use of your own rowboat on the lake is included with your weekly cottage rental,
giving you an opportunity to do some boating or fishing. There is good Bass
fishing in Moose Lake, with many catches each season between 2 lbs. and 4
lbs. Catfish and numerous species of panfish abound, delighting the young
anglers. Boat and motor rentals are available at several area marinas for Georgian Bay use, but advance bookings are advised.
Tired of rowing? Rent an electric motor for your rowboat or rent a kayak or canoe and paddle around the island painted by A.J. Casson in his 'Moose Lake' painting and also in 'Ragged Sky, Moose Lake'.
Most of your holiday needs are met in the village of Pointe au Baril - ATM, post office, grocery
stores, liquor & beer store, marinas, bait shop, restaurants and both
Protestant and Catholic churches. The town of Parry Sound, 25 miles
south, provides tennis courts, movie theatre, golf course, hospital and
doctor services, 30,000 Island Boat Cruise, Dinner cruise and the
Festival of Sound and many restaurants.
